If you are at all serious at building your ebay business in to a life long means of income at some stage you are going to have to find a wholesaler to provide you products to sell.
You probably think that couldn’t be that hard, but it might shock you some what when you realize that wholesalers are not going to be kicking your door down with offers. No sadly for the budding online entrepreneur getting started can be a major headache as wholesalers would much rather deal with their multi million dollar retail accounts and not eBay businesses.
So how can you find trustworthy sources of wholesale goods?
I have always found that when you need anything it comes down to doing your homework first and that means extensive research. One place you can start is the google search engine by putting in words like ” ipod wholesale” or “electronic goods supply” it could take a while and tread very carefully there are a lot of sharks.
Another often ignored source of wholesale merchandise is infact the category on eBay itself for wholesale lots. Just put this in the eBay search engine if you are not to sure what to do and you’ll find it.
Another effective way I use myself is to use source products is an online whole sale source directory the most popular being found at World Wide Brands at http://www.auctionwealthsecrets.com/directory. This is a source that I use almost daily at it saves many hours of research. Check it out yourself and you’ll see what I mean.
For those live in larger citites and towns there are tradeshows where you can meet suppliers face to face. As these events are exclusive to businesses you only get serious players and this gives you a chance to build contacts and set up deals. Make sure before you go to these events you have done your homework so you look like a serious player and not a wannabe.
Rather harder there is of course the option of calling businesses on the phone. If you are confident this can be very effective but you still might prefer initial contact by email or letter. Another thing to consider is language if calling suppliers not based in your own country.
When you have been working with suppliers for a while you’ll find they might improve deals that you had with them although you may need to suggest this. If the supplier values you business then they should be able to offer better terms making you more profits.
