Acne and Diet Are More Connected Than You Think

by Leigh Sharise

Logically speaking, what you put in your body will either benefit it or adversely affect it.

Did you know that the skin is actually an organ? It’s the largest organ of your body, and apart from protecting your insides, it also helps eliminate waste. Is it really any wonder that the more waste there is to deal with, the worse your skin will look? If you eat a lot of unhealthy foods, it will show one way or another.

Let’s explore how and why acne and diet are connected. You may come away with some good tips on how to treat your acne problem just by making diet changes.

First of all, there are various products on the market. These only help the symptoms. The products don’t fix what is wrong in your body to stop producing those annoying zits that you hate.

One of the best things you can do for yourself, apart from cutting out processed foods, is eating more fruits and vegetables. Your skin produces oils naturally, but unhealthy foods cause your body to excrete even more oils.

Acne and diet go hand in hand. One of the known links between acne and diet is the fact that dirty colons cause acne. If your digestive tract is blockaded regularly by foods that aren’t easily digested, you will most likely have skin problems.

The food that gets ’stuck’ turns into toxins. Your body needs to get rid of these toxins somehow, so where do they go? That’s right: Through your skin. So by eating foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and other fiber-rich foods, your digestive tract will work much better. Your skin will have less problems.

What does your everyday diet consist of? Lots of animal products, fried food, coffee, tea, sugar? White flour, alcohol, hydrogenated fats? Microwave food? Painkillers? Chances are good that you have mucoid plaque inside your body.

This nasty gunk likes to feed on old feces; so do other kinds of bacteria.

Another common culprit is called candida. This little bug eats off of the sugars in your food and gives off toxic chemicals that cause allergic reactions and skin problems.

To get more fiber in your diet, try consuming psyllium. You should be able to find it at a grocery or health food store. You can just combine a tablespoon of it with a glass of water, than drink it down.

This food is one of the common ingredients in laxative drinks. This food will keep you regular and will do a fabulous job of cleaning out any bacteria.

There are other foods that help fight skin problems too. So you ask, are acne and diet related? The answer of course, yes.
