Go Deep!

by MFlynn

What’s the real reason that people buy your product or service? It’s probably not because of your professionally designed website, colorful logo, or refrigerator magnets. It’s because they believe that your product or service will benefit them. That’s all they care about. Everyone is constantly on the lookout for products and services that offer benefits that are important to THEM.

Here’s a quick way to find all the benefits of your product or service. Take a blank piece of paper. Write on the top

“People buy my product (service, etc.) so that…”

then list the benefits. Here’s an example.

“They can lose weight”

“They will feel healthier”

“They can fit into new clothes”

Finished? Ok, now take each of those benefits and DIG out THEIR benefits. Like this

“People buy my product so they will lose weight”

“So they feel like they look better”

“So they’ll be in better shape”

“So they get asked out more”

Just keep repeating this process, keep digging.

This is a really easy way to uncover all the benefits that your product or service has to offer. Include them all in your copy and ads. You never know which benefit will be exactly what your market is searching for!

Writing effective copy is all about getting into the “head” of your client or prospect, and knowing exactly what to say. They need to know that your product or service is the answer to exactly what they’ve been searching for.

Crawl Out From Under the Covers

How often do you challenge yourself? Trying new ways of doing business, or new ways of approaching certain situations can be uncomfortable. Because we tend to be creatures of habit, we’re sometimes fearful of change. But playing it “safe” will never get you where you want to go.

In order to be truly successful, you need to view situations that are uncomfortable for you as opportunities. Look at them as opportunities to grow. And don’t worry about the unknown. Focus on the positive. View every new experience, even if it makes you unbelievably nervous, as a forward move toward your success.

As long as you learn, even your self viewed “failures” have value. And keep in mind that most people actually learn more from their failures than from their successes. Don’t waste time worrying about things that will likely not even happen!

Networking is really difficult for some.

At first, networking can be terrifying. For some anyway. But just like anything else, the more you do it, the more times you can put yourself in that situation, the easier it becomes. Think of it this way. If you need a stream of new prospects, what would you rather do? Cold call? Or attend a networking event where at least you can have some fun?
