Start Your Business with Goal Setting

by Dick Ingersoll

Starting a new business isn’t for the faint-hearted. When you decide to start a business, you should be aware that it takes an enormous amount of your time and energy. This is where goal setting will help you through the obstacles you will encounter.

Planning and goal setting are necessary factors that you must accept in order to launch your new enterprise. Let’s take a look at what’s confronting you when you begin an adventure that can be both energizing and rewarding.

In order for your business adventure to be successful, you must objectively measure your business skills, abilities, and motivation. Business goal setting involves writing down why you aspire to start a business in the first place. Be realistic with yourself. What is your motivation? You are the only one who can decide if you’re motivation is solid enough to carry you through the ups and downs of a business startup.

The following step is to also be honest with your self about your business skills. Do you need to take some courses to fill in the holes? Take a trip to your local bookstore. Browse the business book section. Buy a couple of business primer books and read them. This will help you learn what are your strengths and weaknesses.

Goal setting for business startup needs you to know exactly what sort of business you wish to start. Your local bookstore is also a good resource for business suggestions. Not only will there be business books, but there are also several magazines published especially for small business owners.

Your goal setting should include attending some business trade shows where you can talk to vendors. The internet would also be an effective resource. A number of sources on the web publish the current trends of the buying public. This will help you evaluate your ideas.

Once you have measured your business skills and come up with a feasible business idea, the next step in your goal setting is writing a business plan. Your business plan will include the type of organizational structure that is best for you. They range from a sole proprietorship to corporation structures.

In your business plan goal setting you must also evaluate your tax implications, licenses, and insurance coverage. Check your local chamber of commerce. They’ll probably be able to point you in the right direction for getting the answers you need.

Do you need money for startup and operating expenses? There are a number of potential sources at your disposal. Do you have the business capital yourself? Possibly family members could help fund you as investors. Check to see if you qualify for an equity credit line. There are also a number of banks that will give small business loans under the right circumstances. Goal setting involves doing your homework.

One of the last steps in business goal setting is determining if you can commit to devote your full attention to your business adventure. Maybe you can keep your current job while you get your business up and running. Maybe you can find a business partner who will share the expenses and the time to run your new business.

In conclusion, your business goal setting should include establishing a support organization. Check with your local office of the Small Business Association. There are retired business owners who volunteer to help new business startups. Also check the internet for small business resource centers. Goal setting for your new business will help you succeed if you write down your goals and plans and stick with them.

Attracting Your Million Dollar Idea

by Dick Ingersoll

Everyone on this Earth has something valuable to offer another person. Everyone of us is capable of being very prosperous and contented. But nevertheless, so many of us struggle day after day. We’re caught in a cruel rat-race, and often we can barely come up for breath. Yet, to each of us, there’s hope. Applying the Law of Attraction, I want to teach you how to pull to yourself your Million Dollar Idea.

We all are here for a reason. We all have something that we alone can offer. To figure out our purpose is to discover that which both makes us happy and makes us wealthy. We were not meant to fear, hurt, or suffer. However, we all have been culpable of questioning ourselves, and we must learn to move through this. These are very basic things that you must realize before you’ll be able to even begin to reveal your million dollar idea. If you find it, but question yourself and do not follow up on it, you might not find it again for years.

You may want to create a list of things you know. You can list things that you have unique knowledge in. You could try to narrow the list down into something you think is valuable in the market place. There are hundreds of books for that tactic. What I want to reveal to you today is a tactic that is far easier, but you must be willing to put in the effort and specifically to remain very mindful for the answer.

Find a time when you have half an hour to yourself. Find a comfortable, secluded place that is quiet and relaxing. Sit (or lie) or get comfortable in whatever way you want. Listen very attentively to the sounds about you. If the room is silent, listen to the silence. Become aware of your breathing. Count thirty breaths (in-out one, in-out two). When you have finished this your body and mind will be very relaxedat ease and in the perfect state to proceed.

Close your eyes and repeat aloud, “I intend my million dollar idea to present itself to me now. My million dollar idea is here and now and I will that it show itself.” Now listen to the silence, focusing on what you just said. Every few seconds when you begin to experience your mind meandering, repeat the procedure - say it aloud again, then listen and experience the power of your words as they reverberate through your being. Continue this for as long as you can, then become mindful of your breathing for ten breaths. Then you may get up and go about your life.

Now you’ve put out an emotional desire for your million dollar idea to present itself to you. I won’t go into it, but the world you perceive around you is actually within you - everything in your external world is merely a representation of something internal. So what you need to do now is to stay cognizant of what you’re doing throughout the day. When you’re talking to someone, listen very deeply to what they are saying. If you stumble across a book, a magazine, or a proposal of some sort, pay extra attention to it.

What will happen is that something in your external life will happen that will present the million dollar idea to you. Does your friend have a problem that you may have a solution to? Is that answer possibly your million dollar idea? Do you hear someone discussing something they wish they had, but nobody has created it? Do you hear anyone complaining about a lack of something that maybe you could supply?

The funny thing is, occasionally your million dollar idea won’t sound like a million dollar idea to you initially. As your day goes by (and the following day), write down everything you think could be a suggestion. Dreams are especially significant. What you will begin to find is a blueprint based around one definite idea, one certain need, that others have. You will begin to recognize it over and over again. This is the process of your idea presenting itself to you. Once you’re certain you have it, then begin to develop it, and maintain faith in yourself.

The simplicity of this exercise is deceiving. The universe, our external reality, is perpetually communicating to us on a personal level, because our external reality is in point of fact just a manifestation of our internal. The process of giving an intention and question and then really paying attention to personal messages appearing out of the world around you will help you open up to the process of life.

You see, the best million dollar ideas are not things that you think are fashionable or inspiring. They are things that others need - things that benefit others! That’s quite often the simple rule that we neglect in life.

The best moment is when you realize that we don’t actually have one million dollar idea. We have a limitless number of them at our fingertips! All we need to do is ask and listen. May your life be enriched and your dreams come true!

How to Create a Manifestation Poster

by Dick Ingersoll

One of the most powerful tools you can use when working with the Law of Attraction is a poster with your goals that you can hang on your wall. The reason for this is easy - any subconscious reminder of your goal that you will see day after day will further make clear your intent to the universe. So exactly what is a manifestation poster and how do you make one?

The easiest way to go about this is to buy yourself a nice large piece of poster board of whatever size you want to use. I prefer to use colored poster board, rather than basic white, but that’s up to you. Now gather together some old magazines or newspapers you have lying around and begin to look for pictures. You want pictures that depict what it is that you wish to attract. For instance, if you want a red convertible, find a picture of exactly the model you desire and cut it out. Make sure your pictures are as close to exact as you can get, as this will really affect the outcome. Magazines, newspapers, and your own real photos are all great sources for pictures and ideas.

Once you have collected all of the pictures you want to use, paste them to the poster board. You may wish to write under each one your actual intention, so if you want a new house and you paste a picture of a new house that you want, write “My New House” underneath the picture in a nice black marker. How you put them together is up to you - straight? Angled? Collage-style? It doesn’t make any difference, just so long as your goals are represented in the pictures on your poster. You may find that you need more than one poster to hold all of the things you want to manifest!

Once your poster is complete, display it in a place where you will see it frequently. Perhaps on a office wall, in a hallway, on the back of your bedroom door - anywhere you will see the picture daily. When you think about it, stop and examine your poster and think about your goals, while feeling expectant about what you have coming to you. However, even if you forget and never look at the poster again, as you pass it each day, it will register subconsciously. The subconscious is very powerful - manifestation happens easiest when the subconscious is on board rather than fighting. A poster is an excellent way of bypassing your subconscious resistance.

Most of all, when you see your poster you should feel happy. You should feel excited about the things that you are manifesting. This is probably the most important part of your poster - if it stirs up enthusiasm in you, it will help you to manifest your intents very quickly. When combining this practice with a daily routine of visualizing yourself with your desires, you may find that you are manifesting far more quickly than you even thought possible!

Reading won’t make it happen - go design your manifestation poster now!

your ideal life is a daydream away!

by Dick Ingersoll

Have you heard of the Law of Attraction, and how it provides you the ability to magnetize exactly the things, people, and circumstances into your life that you visualize? You certainly have a dream life in mind - that model life you would most like to be living. You may occasionally daydream about it, but you might not do so as much as you did, say, as a child. Even when you daydream, you probably “come back to reality” afterwards, and maybe even feel silly for daydreaming. I’m here to tell you today that your idyllic life is a mere fantasy away.

Daydreaming is the most important aspect of manifesting with the Law of Attraction. What do you think that “visualizing” is? It’s focused, intentional daydreaming! Using your imagination willfully (rather than as a guilty pleasure, which we as proper adults should never indulge in), you open up doors of potential you may not have imagined possible.

Most of us, as adults, do not visualize in any type of focused manner. We daydream for a few seconds here and there, inconsistently. We do not choose to daydream on a specific desire we have, because we have been taught to consider that a juvenile activity. Daydreaming, however, is anything but juvenile.

Daydreaming, when focused, is the sincerest form of practice for using the Law of Attraction to bring forth your desires into your life.

Take a few moments each and every day to sit back, relax, and truly visualize what you desire. Daydream for as long as you can before your mind starts to wander, then resume your regular daily activities. By making the considered decision to daydream without guilt, you will begin to put out that powerful, excited emotional energy that so many children generate day after day. This is the energy of creation. This is the energy of attraction.

As you begin to foster this compelling practice, you will find that your wishes begin to flow more naturally into your life, with little effort on your part. It can be far easier to attract your desires than you imagine at this time. Let the power of your visualizations and the focus of your intent manifest your desires into your life. But beware, once this process begins to blossom, you can’t stop it. You will forevermore find yourself living a life that more and more resembles your ideal life.
